Before booking your child’s assessment with the Arena Swimming Club, the following guidelines should be used to determine whether your child is ready for participation.

Children 10yrs and under should have a minimum “current” participation at level 8 swim school or level 10 vacation swimming standard or higher – if your child is older than 10yrs of age… squad experience is very beneficial, or your child should be capable of swimming 200m continuously of each of the following strokes – freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke.

The minimum requirements for the 8 R Great Squad are 25m Freestyle, 25m Backstroke, and 25 Breaststroke.

Children 12 yrs and older should have recent squad-based training program experience. 

Assessments are required for all squads regardless of age, ability, etc.  Please bring goggles and wear swimming bathers for the assessment.

Membership and Squad Fees: Information will be provided after the assessment regarding Swimming WA Membership, Arena Swim Club Membership, and Squad Fees, along with the availability of the Training Schedule.
