Arena Swim Club sent 6 athletes through to the National Championships conducted in Sydney over the last week. This championship\u00a0doubled\u00a0as the selection meet for the FINA World Championships to be conducted in Shanghai. The\u00a0level of competition to make semi finals and finals was fierce as athletes strove for national team selection.<\/p>\n
The athletes that made the trip for the 8 day competition were Bobby Jovanovich (21), Gianna Leone (19), Jason Dickinson (18), Rhiannon Dielesen (18), Kacey O\u2019Connell (17) and Ben Lindsay (17) all of whom\u00a0Arena Swim Club very well, securing 2 Finals appearances, 7 Semi-Final swims and 15 personal best performances.<\/p>\n
This was a great meet for our athletes, they showed the maturity and determination that is required at this level of competition. They took a significant step forward in their development and are looking to learn from the experiences of the week, get into some hard work as they begin preparations for the winter short course season, and ultimately the Olympic Trials next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
