Arena Membership Swipe Cards, Pool Entry and Use of the Club Room

Valid Swipe Card

All swimmers are required to have a current membership swipe card to enter the pool.

Effective from Monday 31 May 2010, Venues West has advised that you will not be granted access to the pool for training if you do not have a current valid swipe card. You will be required to pay the pool entry fee to access the pool.

Swimmers – please do not kick the gate to open the pool as this will result in you being refused entry.

If you have monthly training fees direct debited to credit card or bank account, please ensure that reception is advised of any changes to account details as they arise to ensure that your swipe card remains valid.

Improper Use of Emergency Exits

Swimmers – you are reminded not to enter or exit the pool via the emergency exits. You have been advised on a  number of occasions in the past that this practice is unacceptable. Venues West has advised that should this practice continue, individuals will be barred from the from the pool for an extended time.

Club Room Office

This room is a shared space and used by Venues West for a number of purposes. Arena Swim Club has access to the room during training periods and race sessions. Swimmers should not be in this room unless they have a sound reason ( ie: homework).

Over the past two months, swimmers gear bags and food stuff has been left scattered across the room following morning training sessions.  This is contributing to a problem with vermin within the centre and the office. Club committee members have had to return to the pool during the day to clean up the mess left behind by swimmers.

The outcome:  Venues West is pushing to ban all swimmers from the room outside of training hours; and then access will only be allowed under direct supervision of coaching staff or a parent.

The club has given an assurance to Venues West that the office will be kept clean and tidy. To assist with this, the club is investigating storage solutions to help with the cleanliness of the room and storage of swim bags and sealed food containers.

Swimmers - If you use this room in the mornings, or for homework in the afternoon, please ensure that;

  • all food stuffs/scraps/crumbs are cleaned up before you leave the room;
  • all rubbish is placed in the bin; and
  • all swimming gear, clothing and shoes are stored in a closed sports bag and stored neatly under the bench in the room.

Thank you
