Age National Recap 2022 – Lydia Jackson

Age Nationals Recap 2022 – Lydia Jackson Black Caps – Coach Simon Redmond

This year we had 4 swimmers compete in Adelaide in the SA aquatic and leisure centre competition pool (Tom Wyatt, Thomas Prowton, Emma Stewart, and Lydia Jackson (Me).

One week before we flew out there was a presentation held to congratulate us and to wish us good luck. We received our national caps and uniforms (along with Tom W and myself receiving our open national black caps from states).

On behalf of me and my teammates, I would like to thank the arena committee for organising our uniforms and the presentation, and also for being very supportive of us.

We flew out on Monday afternoon, arriving in Adelaide around 5:00 PM, and Tuesday we then went for a pre-meet swim in the competition pool.

Following that the competition started on Wednesday and went through to Monday.

Throughout the 6 days of competing, finals were made by all our arena swimmer,s and medals were won!

This was an amazing experience with three of my teammates and I’m glad to have had them by my side to support me during the competition.

I am very proud of my teammates for their amazing efforts throughout the week.

Also, a special thank you to our coaches Simon and Fiona for helping us get the compete at this level and always supporting us, they have both been here for us before and during the competition and were a great help in motivating us and pushing us to our limits.

Overall, it was a wonderful experience and many great memories were made, hope to make more next year!
