Gene Williams of the VenuesWest High Performance Swim Team and representing Arena Swim Club finished 7th Australian overall, only 4 ½ minutes behind the winner, Canadian Richard Weinberger, which also earned him a Bronze Medal for 3rd place in the 17/18 Years Age Group.
Men’s 5km
Gene Williams of the VenuesWest High Performance Swim Team and representing Arena Swim Club finished 6th Australian overall, only 15.6 seconds behind the winner, NSW’s Jarrod Poort. There was no splitting of the Age Groups for this distance, if they had, it was a Gold Medal performance for Gene as the age group 5km was swam later in the day in a time 3 minutes slower than Gene.
